"The Asprey," a legendary vintage Patek Philippe watch, fetched 3.915 million Swiss francs ($3.88 million), Sotheby's said on Tuesday after hectic bidding at its Geneva auction. Made in 1952 and sold four years later, the Swiss luxury wristwatch was the star lot among 250 watches and pocket watches, including pieces by Cartier, Rolex, and Vacheron Constantin, that were on the block at Tuesday's semi-annual auction in Geneva, with a pre-sale estimate of $2 to 4 million.
