Olympic bronze medal-winning wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt may get the gold after the winner of his 60kg event failed a dope test, Hindustan Times reported.

World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), however, is yet to release a statement confirming that London Games gold medallist Toghrul Asgarov had taken a banned substance.

Thirty three-year-old Dutt had originally won the bronze medal four years back.

But his medal was upgraded to a silver medal earlier this week for similar reasons.

The elevation in Dutt's medal colour comes after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) improved its dope-testing techniques.

Dutt, though, will have to wait for the gold medal. He will also need to clear the doping test.

If he does, he will become the India's second individual athlete after shooter Abhinav Bindra to win an Olympic gold.
