West Indies batsman Chris Gayle announced his retirement from One-Day International (ODI) cricket after this summer’s ICC World Cup, scheduled to begin from May 30.
However, Gayle is willing to lend his star power to the England and Wales Cricket Board’s new 100-ball competition. He will also be available for Twenty20s, banking a regular stream of franchise deals and a short-form World Cup in Australia in 2020.
Earlier this month, the 39-year-old batsman had been recalled by the Windies for the first two ODIs against England in preparation for this year's World Cup.
Gayle last played for the Windies during a home series against Bangladesh last year in July.

The left-hander holds the West Indian record for most ODI hundreds with 23, and is their second-leading run-scorer in the 50-over format with 9,727 runs -- trailing only Brian Lara (10,405).
