Watch: Steve Smith's father throws out his cricket gear

Days after Cricket Australia (CA) banned Steve Smith for 12 months for his role in the ball-tampering scandal that rocked the world of Cricket, his father Peter Smith, got so disturbed with the episode that he decided to dump his son's cricket kit in the garage.

The act was filmed where Peter can be seen dumping his son’s cricket bag into their family garage recently.

When asked about Steve’s condition, Peter was quick to respond saying, "He'll be fine, he'll survive, he'll survive," Peter said while he took the kit out of his car.

Smith conspired with his deputy David Warner and batsman Cameron Bancroft to alter the condition of the ball on the third day of the third Test during Australia's ongoing tour of South Africa. 

Devastated by his on-field actions, Smith said: "I am sorry. Want to make it clear that as captain of the Australia Cricket team I take full responsibility. I made a serious error of judgment and I now understand the consequences."

Former Deputy captain David Warner has also been banned by CA for 12 months, while Bancroft has been slapped with a nine-month ban.

In the aftermath of the incident, the BCCI also decided to bar Smith (Rajasthan Royals) and Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad) from playing the Indian Premier League 2018 season.
