Story highlights

Kohli has now scored 60 international centuries faster than the Master Blaster.

India skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday broke cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's record by becoming the faster cricketer to score 60 international hundreds.

The milestone for Kohli came after he slammed 140 runs in the first ODI against West Indies in Guwahati and in the process, he broke Tendulkar’s record, who took 426 innings whereas Kohli reached the landmark in 40 fewer innings.

Kohli, who has now scored 36 ODI and 24 Test centuries, is the fifth cricketer to hit 60 international tons. Today, he took 88 balls to reach his 36th ODI century.

Kohli also equalled another record set by Tendulkar of scoring more than 2,000 international runs in a calendar year for India.

Apart from Tendulkar & Kohli, Sourav Ganguly (4) and Rahul Dravid (3) are the other two Indian cricketers, who have achieved the feat.

Kohli along with Sharma, who slammed unbeaten 152, chased down the mammoth target of 323 runs set by the Jason Holder's side.
