Arun Pandey, MS Dhoni's manager, has revealed that the news of Sushant’s death has left the 38-year-old very morose. Arun also revealed that Dhoni was a great admirer of Sushant for the way he portrayed his character in the biopic and due to the level of dedication he showed during the making of the film.

Sushant Singh Rajput died of suicide on Sunday and the news came as a massive shock to everyone. The jovial actor had a special place in the hearts of Indian cricket lovers due to his perfect portrayal of MS Dhoni in the movie MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. From Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli to Rohit Sharma, every cricketer expressed their shock after hearing the news on social media. The news even left Dhoni shell-shocked.

The manager of the former Indian skipper, Arun Pandey, revealed that the news of Sushant’s death left the 38-year-old very morose. Arun also revealed that Dhoni was a great admirer of Sushant for the way he portrayed his character in the biopic and due to the level of dedication he showed during the making of the film.

"Mahi is also very morose"

“We can’t even believe what has happened. I am not in a position to express my grief. Mahi is also very morose. Such a tragic incident,” Arun told ABP Ananda.

He added, “Sushant was only 34 and a prosperous career was waiting for him, I have no doubt about that. There are ups and downs in everyone’s life.

“Sushant used to practice under the watchful eyes of former cricketer Kiran More who taught him how to keep wickets, which was very essential to play the role of Mahi. I still remember that Sushant had a bad side strain during practice and even there was a crack in his backbone. But he was confident, worked hard in rehabilitation and recovered within a week. Even Mahi was impressed to see his dedication to work.”

Arun further said that it was not easy to play the role of Dhoni on-screen but Sushant made it look easy while adding Dhoni and his closed ones knew that he was the best person to play the character.

“Sushant worked whole night to assimilate the script. He was desperate to play the role with perfection. He used to say that since he got the opportunity to portray Mahi on screen, he will give his best. It was not easy to play the role of Mahi on screen. But Sushant made it look easy. Mahi and we all knew that he was the best person to play the character,” said Arun.

Meanwhile, the postmortem report of the actor stated that Sushant died of suicide at his Bandra residence. The funeral will be held in Mumbai on Monday (June 15) as his father left Patna, Bihar to attend the last rites of his son. Some of the family members arrived Mumbai on Sunday night.
