Zidane commented on Gareth Bale's future with the club saying that 'the club is working on his departure'

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane spoke to media after his side's 1-3 loss to Bayern Munich in an entertaining International Champions Cup match in Houston on Saturday.

Both Bayern and Real gave debuts to high-profile acquisitions in a game that featured appearances from 41 different players, however, Real Madrid's Welsh star Gareth Bale was left off.

During the post-match press conference, Zidane commented on Bale's future with the Real saying that "the club is working on his departure".

"He wasn't included in the squad because the club is working on his departure and that's why he didn't play," Zidane said.

"We'll have to see what happens in the coming days," he added.

"We'll have to see if it goes through tomorrow, if it does then all the better. Let's hope, for everyone's sake, that it happens soon," Zidane insisted.

"We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team," said the coach.

"I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done," Zidane added.

Bale joined Real Madrid six seasons ago and has been linked to Tottenham, Manchester United and Bayern of late.

He has three seasons left on his deal.

Zidane gave a vague response to speculation surrounding Paul Pogba signing from Manchester United.

He said, "I have been asked this same question and I am going to answer the same."

English Premier League clubs can only buy and sell players up to 8th August.
