Not investigating cricketer Mohammed Shami for match-fixing: CoA

In a new twist, Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administration(CoA) has said it there are no investigations being conducted against Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami on match-fixing charges.

A source in COA said: "There are no investigations into match-fixing charges. We heard an audio clip which had some financial dealing. The money involved can be anything rent or some money lending or anything. But no match-fixing investigations against Shami."

CoA's statement comes after reports emerged that Shami was allegedly involved in match-fixing.

Recently, Shami's wife Hasin Jahan had levelled some serious allegations including adultery, match-fixing and even attempt to murder on Shami.

The (COA) is now investigating the matter.

Earlier, Kolkata Police had sent a letter to BCCI regarding the information of the route for Shami's last match to South Africa after his wife Hasin Jahan had alleged that he had stayed back in Dubai.

Hasin said, "Shami abused me and started beating me even after returning from South Africa. He has been doing this for quite some time now and now I have had enough."

Shami's wife also asked for help from West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
