The Under-19 World Cup final is underway, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first against India at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.

Batting first Australia has set a modest target of 216.Indian bowling was at its lethal best as they took early wickets.

Ishan Porel struck twice and took two crucial wickets to give an early shock to the Australian side.

Jack Edwards and Max Bryant lost their wicket to Ishan Porel after scoring 28 and 14 respectively. Then Kamlesh Nagarkoyi came in and outbowled the Australian skipper Jason Sangha. It was a big blow to the Australian side.

Jonathan Merlo helped the team to recover from early losses and found a determined ally in Param Uppal, together they tried to push the run rate.

Anukul Roy helped to break the partnership by taking both the wickets. Uppal lost his wicket after scoring 34 and Merlo edged the ball into the safe hands of Shiva Singh.

Indian side performed like a world-class team, that how a team would perform which is led by Rahul Dravid, Yes, it is a Dravid's team, the team thus performed like him. The fielding was commendable, from run outs to amazing catches, team India looked all set to claim the trophy.

Fall of Wickets:

32-1 (Max Bryant, 5.1), 52-2 (Jack Edwards, 9.6), 59-3 (Jason Sangha, 11.4), 134-4 (Param Uppal, 28.5), 183-5 (Nathan McSweeney, 39.2), 191-6 (Will Sutherland, 41.3), 212-7 (Jonathan Merlo, 45.3), 214-8 (Zak Evans, 46.1), 216-9 (Baxter J Holt, 46.3), 216-10 (Ryan Hadley, 47.2)

India's batting has been at its best. While the openers -- Shaw and Manjot Kalra -- have given the team good starts throughout the tournament, Shubman Gill has been in phenomenal form at the number - 3. India entered the finals after thrashing arch-rivals Pakistan by 203 runs.

Both teams remained unchanged from the last game. In a group stage encounter, India thrashed the Aussies by 100 runs earlier in the competition. Hence, Australia would be desperate for revenge after their big loss to the Indians in the tournament opener.

The Jason Sangha-led side's last two performances signal that they have upped their game when it mattered.
