Stuart Binny's brilliant inning went in vain as Rajasthan was defeated by Punjab by 12 runs. 

Playing at a strike rate of 300, Binny slammed 33 runs in 11 balls which included three sixes and two boundaries.  

Stuart Binny is on a roll and is hitting sixes. Rajasthan need 23 runs in 6 balls. 

Arshdeep Singh to Rahane, out Caught by Shami!! Rahane's ordeal comes to an end and the 20-year old is absolutely pumped. Couldn't have asked for a better debut.

After 16 overs, Rajasthan's score stands at 127 for the loss of three wickets.

Rahul Tripathi was dismissed for 50 runs. he lost his wicket soon after reaching the fifty mark.

Ashwin to Samson, Bowled!! The sweep has brought about his downfall this time. After crunching the previous two straight to the fielder, Samson goes for it again but misses it completely.

That it was a carrom ball that straightened on off may have had to do with the error. 

Skipper Ajinkya Rahane comes to the crease.

Rahul Tripathi and Sanju Samson steady things with 50 partnership to revive Rajasthan's inning. 

While Tripathi is playing at 39, Samson is playing at 27. 

Punjab made a major breakthrough by getting the wickets of Jos Buttler. The batsman departed after making 23 runs in 17 balls.

Five overs have been bowled and Punjab's score stands at 51 for the loss of one wicket.

Skipper R Ashwin scored 17 runs in four balls to power Punjab to 182 for the loss of six wickets after 20 overs. 

David miller smashed 40 while KL Rahul made 52 runs.

Rajasthan need a brilliant open partnership if they wish to win this game. 

KL Rahul's spectacular innings comes to an end as the batsmen was dismissed by Unadkat for 52 runs.

However, Miller is still on crease and is playing at 34 runs. 

KL Rahul hits fifty to revive Punjab's innings, especially after the side lost two wickets. he is well supported by David Miller.

Bad luck for Rajasthan. 

50 runs partnership comes up for KL Rahul and  David Miller. The two are playing at 37 and 23 respectively.

Mayank Agarwal's short cameo comes to an end as Rajasthan's Ish Sodhi struck to dismiss the batsman for 26 runs. 

He played at a strikes rate of 216 and smashed two sixes and one boundary.

Chris Gayle departs

Universe boss Chris Gayle was dismissed by Jofra Archer. The batsman departed just when the partnership between him and KL Rahul was getting stronger.  

It was on a back of a length, decked away with some extra bounce. Gayle with a tentative and loose poke at that, it brushes the outside edge and Samson makes no mistake this time.

Speaking after the toss, Rahane said, "It's a dry wicket and on this ground chasing teams always win. What is important is playing good cricket throughout 40 overs and start fresh. It's a funny format so you need to give your best. Three changes for us as Ashton Turner comes in, Stuart Binny is back and Ish (Sodhi) comes in. It was a good victory against Mumbai, we did really well. Only four overseas can play in IPL, hence it's a difficult choice to make. It's important to start from scratch and stay fresh."

Meanwhile, R Ashwin said, "We are playing three spinners so probably we want to make the most use of dry conditions. There has been quite a cloud cover throughout the day, hopefully there is no dew. Moises was set to make his debut but unfortunately got injured. We have Miller back in place of Curran. It's one of those stages where you got to gain some momentum."

Rajasthan's Ajinkya Rahane has won the toss and have opted to bowl. This is the second meet of the two teams. 

The first game was won by Punjab and Rajasthan will be looking to avenge the loss. 

The two teams will meet three weeks of the infamous 'Mankad' row that went on to become a major controversy of the Indian Premier League 2019.
