Kidambi Srikanth conferred with Padma Shri award
Ace Men Singles's shuttler Kidambi Srikanth on Tuesday was conferred with the country's fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri, from President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Besides Kidambi, former Asian Games gold medallist tennis player Somdev Devvarman and first Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar also received the awards.
World No. 2 Srikanth has been honoured for his achievements in the field of Badminton.

He became the first Indian Badminton player to win the golden trio which is Grand Prix Gold, Super Series, and Super Series Premier titles.
This year, former India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and multiple world champion cueist Pankaj Advani were conferred with the country's third-highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan.
This year, as many as 85 Padma awards were announced, including two duo cases (in a duo case, the award is counted as one).
