Journalist Rajat Sharma is new boss of Delhi cricket

Rajat Sharma has been elected as the President of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). The election for the same happened took place between June 27 and June 30 and the result for which was announced on July 2, Monday.

Journalist Rajat Sharma received a total of 1,521 votes (54.40 per cent) in his favour and along with him, Rakesh Kumar Bansal has been elected as the Vice President with 48.87 per cent votes.

Rajat's candidature is backed by former DDCA President Sneh Bansal, Narinder Batra - Treasurer and International Hockey Federation (FIH) and many others. 

Padma Bhushan awardee Rajat Sharma - who will serve as the DDCA President for the next three years - promised to bring in transparency and accountability in the state association.

"I thank all members of DDCA who voted in the elections and reposed their trust in us. I now invite all the members to join hands to bring about transparency in the functioning of DDCA," Sharma tweeted after the results.
