England's fast bowler James Anderson became the first bowler to take 100 Test wickets at Lord's.

Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, the world's leading test wicket-taker, is the only other bowler to capture 100 wickets at a single venue.

Muralitharan's 800 test victims included 100 in Galle, Kandy and at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.

Supported by favourable weather conditions, Lancashire swing bowler Anderson took nine wickets including both the innings.

Anderson has now taken 553 Test wickets and will look to surpass Australian cricket legend Glenn McGrath to become the highest wicket-taking fast bowler in Test cricket.

The 36-year-old Anderson is currently at the second position of most wicket taker in Test career by a fast bowler.

He is just 10 wickets behind Glenn McGrath, who has taken 563 wickets in 243 innings.

His 100th Test wicket in 23 Tests at Lord's came when he took Murli Vijay's wicket in the second wicket.

After a brilliant performance, England defeated India by an inning and 159 runs.
