'I am not a doctor,' jokes England captain Eoin Morgan on Jason Roy's injury update

England captain Eoin Morgan confirmed that his side's in-form opener Jason Roy will be out for at least two games with a hamstring injury in the ongoing edition of Cricket World Cup 2019. 

On being asked how quickly can Roy recover from a torn hamstring, the skipper gave a witty reply. 

Journalist asked, "Forgive my ignorance, I am not a doctor, but how quickly can a guy recover from a torn hamstring? Ten days...?" 

With a smile oh his face, Morgan replied, "I am not a doctor either. So you'll have to excuse my ignorance." 

Roy suffered a hamstring tear in Friday's win over West Indies and Morgan confirmed James Vince, who had a lengthy net session at Old Trafford on Monday, will replace the opener against Afghanistan. 

"I certainly believe Jason will play again in this tournament. At the moment he's going to be assessed continuously over the course of the next week. He's out of the next two games. So we'll see how he pulls up after that," said Morgan during a presser. 

Morgan, 32, added that with injuries, people respond differently to treatment and medication. 

"It's a matter of seeing... giving him enough time to allow him to get himself back into the tournament," added Morgan. 

Ahead of the Afghanistan game on Tuesday, Morgan also said that he is likely to play after recovering from a back spasm.
