'Hope I can bring success to the club,' says Chelsea boss Frank Lampard

Chelsea's new manager Frank Lampard hopes that he will bring success to the club, which is serving a transfer ban and are unable to add new players to their squad. 

Amid the crisis, Lampard has been tasked with improving the players he inherited from predecessor Maurizio Sarri and promoting young players from the club's academy. 

"I know the people that I'm working with all have the same desires from Bruce (Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck) and the people at the top of the club right the way through to the players who have been working now very hard for the last two weeks, 10 days or two weeks. So, I hope that I can bring success to the club," said Lampard during a media interaction. 

As a player, Lampard has spent 13 years with Chelsea winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League. He said that the club is very close to his heart. 

"In terms of my feelings to be managing Chelsea, it's obviously 'my club' having spent 13 years," 

"It's a club it's very, very close to my heart. So I couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to work for that club to try and bring success," he added. 

Lampard, who made 648 appearances for Chelsea and scored a club record 211 goals, managed Derby County last season and led them to the Championship (second-tier) playoff final.
