Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajpoot died by suicide at his Mumbai residence as the talented actor left a huge void in the Bollywood industry. Sushant had a special place in the hearts of cricketers and cricket fans for his phenomenal portrayal of MS Dhoni in the blockbuster movie – MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. 

As soon as the shocking piece of news was confirmed on Sunday afternoon, the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Irfan Pathan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, among other cricketers, reacted to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death as everyone was left heartbroken.

“Shocked and sad to hear about the loss of Sushant Singh Rajput. Such a young and talented actor. My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul RIP,” wrote Tendulkar on Twitter.

“Shocked to hear about Sushant Singh Rajput. This is so difficult to process. May his soul RIP and may God give all the strength to his family and friends,” tweeted Virat Kohli, whose wife and Bollywood superstar Anushka Sharma was seen alongside Sushant in the Aamir Khan-starrer PK.

“I’m deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the suicide of #SushantSinghRajput  my heart goes out for his family. I chatted with him last at the Taj Hotel Gym, I praised him for his work in Kedarnath & his reply was ‘Bhai please do watch chhichhore’ you will love it!,” wrote Irfan Pathan while recalling his last meet with Sushant.

Sushant portrayed some phenomenal characters namely in the movies – Kai Po Che!, Chicchhore, Sonchiriya, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, among many others and received plaudits for his knack for perfection. However, his portrayal of Dhoni made him a household face.     

Sushant shot to fame with Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’ in 2008 before making his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che’ in 2013.
