Rajasthan Royals COOO Jake Lush McCrum has said that he is confident that the IPL 2020 would be conducted later in the year while adding they are preparing for September-November window.

There has been a lot of talks surrounding the future of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. While the cash-rich tournament stands indefinitely suspended, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is on alert following Indian government’s decision to allow the re-opening of sporting complexes and stadia. Rajasthan Royals COOO Jake Lush McCrum has said that he is confident that the IPL 2020 would be conducted later in the year while adding they are preparing for September-November window.

McCrum stated that all the franchises are in constant touch with the Indian board while adding the BCCI is working really hard to find a solution.

"There are a lot of stories in the press, but what I can say based on our conversation with the BCCI is, they are working really hard to find a solution. They are an agile association and can make it happen. We are confident that IPL will happen this year", McCrum said during 'Royal Fans Meet'.

"We are preparing for the September-November window. But nothing has been finalized as of now given the situation at hand. The great thing about BCCI is they have put together the tournament at very short notice as well in South Africa in 2009, they can do it again," he added.

BCCI will look to find an alternate window to conduct IPL 2020 and a lot will depend on the future of ICC T20 World Cup, scheduled to be hosted by Australia. However, speculations are rife that the showpiece tournament might get postponed, opening a window for IPL 2020.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held from October 18 to November 15.
