Brian Lara complains of chest pain, hospitalised in Mumbai

Former West Indies cricketer Brian Lara, 50, has complained of chest pain and has been admitted to Global Hospital in Mumbai. 

There has been no information on Lara's health but the hospital will issue an official statement shortly to give an update. 

The Windies great has been in Mumbai for his expert commentary in the ongoing edition of Cricket World Cup 2019. 

The Trinidad batsman who debuted against Pakistan back in 1990, played his last match against England in 2007 in an ODI. He was West Indies' ultimate run-machine scoring 11,953 Test runs in 131 matches with 34 centuries and 48 half-centuries.

In his ODI career, the middle order batsman scored 10,405 runs at an average of 40.5 with 19 centuries and 63 half-centuries.

Lara's outstanding unbeaten 501 for Warwickshire in the English county match against Durham in 1994 catapulted the young batsman to world fame.
