Billy Stanlake ruled out of IPL 2018 due to a fractured finger

Billy Stanlake has been ruled out of Indian Premier League 2018 due to a finger injury that he sustained while fielding in the last clash against Chennai on April 22, Sunday.

Australian pacer Stanlake was purchased by Hyderabad franchise for an amount of 50 lakhs. So far in the tournament, he has been magnificent and has contributed well to the team. He took five wickets in the matches he played for Hyderabad.

"Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Billy Stanlake has been ruled out of the remainder of the eleventh"edition of the ongoing IPL," a media release from the Sunrisers Hyderabad said.

Indian and Australian orthopedic specialists have advised Stanlake against playing the remaining tournament owing to an injury.

"Billy sustained a displaced fracture on the fifth finger of his right hand whilst fielding. Surgical reduction and fixation was required to restore the function to that finger," the release said.

The statement also mentioned that Billy Stanlake has flown back to Australia.
