Asian Games: Sindhu beats World No 2 Yamaguchi in badminton semi-finals, eyes gold
India's star shuttler player PV Sindhu on Monday defeated Japan's Akane Yamaguchi 21-17, 15-21, 21-10 in the badminton semi-finals at the ongoing Asian Games.
Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian woman to reach the Women's singles final at the Asiad.
She will now play World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying, who defeated Saina Nehwal, in the final tomorrow.
Sindhu won the first game 21-17 against her Japanese opponent with her stunning defence and retrieving skills.
Yamaguchi made a strong comeback and won two points off the net to clinch the second set 21-15.

The third set was a close encounter between the two as Sindhu used her height effectively against opponent Yamaguchi to snatch the third set 21-10.
Sindhu played some great badminton at the net and used raw power along with some great placement to baffle the World No. 2.
Luck was on the Japanese second seed's side at crucial moments as she won two points off the net with Sindhu having the upper hand.
India's day at the Asian Games 2018 has begun with a Bronze medal as Saina Nehwal lost her semi-final in straight games in the women's singles.
