Shooter Saurabh Chaudhary today won the gold medal in the 10 meters air pistol final at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

Chaudhary's exploits helped India to clinch its third gold medal at the Youth Olympics.

The 16-year-old shooter, who had won the gold at the Jakarta  Asian Games recently, shot 244.2 to beat his South Korean rival Sung Yunho by 7.5 points. The bronze medal was bagged by Switzerland's Solari Jason.

Meerut-born Chaudhary had earlier topped the qualifying stage of the event.

On Tuesday, India's Manu Bhakar had won the first ever gold medal for India in shooting at the youth games after she shot 236.5 in the 10 meters pistol event beating her Russian rival narrowly who hit 235.9.

Bhakar, who was India’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympics had topped the qualifying with 576 points.

15-year-old weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga had started India's gold medal hunt claiming the top honours in the 62kg category on Monday. The Aizwal weightlifter lifted a total of 274 kg (124 kg +150 kg) to finish on top.
