Asian Games: Sindhu has 'power and speed' to pull off today's final, says Gopichand

Badminton coach Pullela Gopichand is confident that shuttler PV Sindhu will win the final of the women's singles event at the 2018 Asian Games. 

He said, "Sindhu is one of the people with power and speed who can pull this off."

"Sindhu has done very well consistently to get to the finals. I hope we have a good match tomorrow," Gopichand further added.

Sindhu scripted history as she became the first Indian shuttler to reach the final of women's singles event at the Asian Games.

The 23-years-old Sindhu defeated Japan's Akane Yamaguchi 21-17, 15-21, 21-10 in the semi-final clash, which lasted one hour six minutes.

Gopichand discussed how the final clash will go about and said that Sindhu will count on her strength and retrieving ability.   

"It will be an interesting game," he said.

On being asked about Saina's performance, Gopichand said, "Saina played well. Nothing to be disappointed about. The bronze which she has won has come after several years, with a lot of hard work. I am very proud of the way she fought."

PV Sindhu will meet Tai Tzuying in the final clash on Tuesday.
