Asian Games 2018: India wins first equestrian silvers after 36 years
India's Fouaad Mirza became the first Indian to win an individual medal in the equestrian event since the 1982 Asian Games.
Mirza scripted history (again) on Sunday by securing the silver in the individual jumping event. He also guided the country to a second-place finish in the team event.
The team comprised Fouaad, Jitender Singh, Akash Malik and Rakesh Kumar.
In the individual jumping event, Mirza won the silver medal with a score of 26.40.
India's Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore took to Twitter to congratulate Fouaad for his performance:
Fouadd Mirza and his trusted partner, his horse Seigneur Medicott have won a SILVER medal in Equestrian Eventing Individual event.
