Wrestler Bajrang Punia defeated Batmagnai Batchuluun of Mongolia by 10-0 in Men's 65 kg freestyle wrestling semi-final and advanced to the finals.

He is just one step away from clinching India's first gold at the 2018 Asian Games.

Earlier, Punia marched on to the semi-final after his second win of the day on technical superiority. Before that, he had defeated Khasanov Sirojjidin of Uzbekistan to reach the quarter-final of the ongoing event.

Another wrestler Sandeep Tomar lost his quarter-final clash to Iran's Reza Atrinagharchi 9-15.

India's star wrestler Sushil Kumar has been crashed out in the opening round as he suffered a tragic defeat in men's 74 kg category in the wrestling competition.
