The negotiations over a world heavyweight title showdown between the two elite fighters began in early May with financial terms being agreed now, as per Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn.
Joshua holds the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts whereas Fury is the reigning WBC champion.
“We’re making great progress,” Joshua’s promoter Hearn told Sky Sports News. “There is still a lot to overcome. We are looking at venues and dates.
“We have the Dillian Whyte mandatory which is due before this fight.
“It’s fair to say (Joshua and Fury) are in agreement regarding the financial terms of the fight.”
Joshua defeated Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia in December 2019 to won back his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts. His fight against Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev on June 20 was put on hold due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The all-British bout between Joshua and Fury is likely to earn more than £100million, which will make it the most lucrative bout in the UK boxing history.
The two-fight deal is now scheduled to be fought in 2021 with boxing fans eagerly waiting to see the bout for years. According to Frank Warren, co-promoter of Fury with Bob Arum reckons both the boxers could earn between £47million-£55million from each fight.
He told ESPN: “These guys [Fury, Joshua] could get between $60-70 million each from one fight against each other, double that if there’s a rematch, in one year.”
Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather claims the most lucrative fight in the history, as of now.
