Story highlights

Rohit, who was on the tour of Australia, missed the fourth Test and flew back to Mumbai soon after his wife Ritika delivered the baby, last week.

Days after Australian skipper Tim Paine asked Rishabh Pant to babysit his kids, India's ODI star Rohit Sharma has also urged India's young wicketkeeper-batsman to babysit his newborn daughter Samaira.

Replying to Pant's 'Good Morning' post on Twitter, the Hitman wrote, "Morning buddy. Heard you're a good baby sitter, need one right now. Ritika will be quite happy @RishabPant777."

Rohit, who was on the tour of Australia, missed the fourth Test and flew back to Mumbai soon after his wife Ritika delivered the baby, last week. The couple tied the knot in December 2015.

During the Melbourne Test, Paine asked Pant to babysit his kids while he takes his wife out for a movie.

The on-field banter was taken way too seriously by Paine's wife Bonnie as she posted a picture captioned "Best Babysitter" of the Indian wicket-keeper with her kids.

On the Australian soil, Pant ended the five-Test series as the second-highest run-scorer after Cheteshwar Pujara, notching 350 runs in seven innings.

While behind the stumps, he broke the record for most catches (20) by an Indian wicket-keeper in a Test series.
