1st ODI: Kohli falls after hitting ton, Rohit hits ton as India chase down Windies' 323

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and rose to the occasion and slammed a century while chasing a mammoth target of 323 runs set by West Indies in the first ODI on Sunday.

Kohli along with opener Rohit Sharma, who also reached his century established a 246-run stand.  The two kept India's scorecard ticking after Shikhar Dhawan fell early for just four runs.

However, Kohli was stumped off Bishoo at 140. His 107-ball inning included 21 boundaries and two sixes. Meanwhile, Rohit is going strong and is playing ta a strike rate of 122. 

Kohli, who played at a strike rate 126, reached the 50-digit mark in just 35 balls. India are 198 for the loss of one wicket after 28 overs. 

For West Indies, Shimron Hetmyer slammed a century to bring his side back into contention against the 'Men in Blue'.
 
Put in to bat, the Windies were at one time reduced to 86 for the loss of three wickets.  

It was then that Hetmyar took the driver's seat and slammed a 78-ball 106, before giving away his wicket to Ravindra Jadeja trying to hit a six. He was caught by Rishabh Pant. 

He had put up a half-century stand with skipper Jason Holder for the sixth wicket and played at a strike rate of 135.90, hitting six boundaries and six sixes. 

Holder contributed 38 runs, including five boundaries, before being clean bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal.
