Will stand by Khan's side if he prioritises human development: Bilawal Bhutto

After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan was elected as the 22nd prime minister of Pakistan on Friday, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto said that his party would be willing to stand by Khan if he promises to make constitutional supremacy and human development his priority. 

While addressing the National Assembly, Bhutto asked about Khan's future policies and the "100-day roadmap" to diminish poverty and create 10 million jobs. 

He also asked the PTI chief to find solutions to the growing extremism and violence in the country. The PPP chairman further criticised the political parties for creating a "ruckus" in the assembly, reported the Dawn.

Talking about his reservation over the election procedure, Bhutto said, "If it weren't for us Mr. Speaker, you wouldn't have your seat and the Prime Minister would not have his."

Bhutto also pointed out that the political parties compromised on the basic rights and encouraged extremism across the country.
He went on to say, "As prime minister, I hope Imran Khan will drop the hateful rhetoric. If he continues to fan the flames of hatred, he will have to go through us and he will find us opposing him at every step of the way."

Khan will swear-in as Pakistan's PM on Saturday morning at the resident house which will be administered by Manmoon Hussain. 

Khan's PTI emerged as the single largest party in this year's elections which were held on July 25. The party bagged a total of 116 seats which rose to 125 after nine independent members joined the party.

PTI's final tally reached 158 after it was allotted 28 out of 60 seats reserved for women and five out of 10 seats reserved for minorities.
