Toll collection to resume across national highways in India

The collection of road toll on national highways across India will resume from midnight, news agency ANI reported.

The government has taken several steps to ensure smooth movement of traffic.

Toll plazas have been equipped with swipe machines for people to make payments through their credit or debit cards. Prepaid instruments and electronic wallets can also be used for making payments.

FASTags introduced by the the ministry of road transport and highways are being encouraged by the government. These FASTags can be stuck on to your car and toll payments can be made directly from the prepaid account linked to it.

Commuters are being ugred to carry adequate change with them today to avoid delays. The old 500 rupee notes will be accepted till the midnight of December 15, but only for purchasing FASTags and making toll payments of more than 200 rupees.
