Sri Lanka's geography has gone through many territorial changes for nearly a couple of decades now

After nearly 18 years, Sri Lanka's geographical map has been revised and is set to be released today. The Sri Lanka Survey Department (SLSD), along with the national surveying and mapping organization, has decided to update the geographical map of Sri Lanka.

The country's map will now include an additional two square kilometre land of the Colombo Port City.

A digital version of the map, demonstrating the land added to the Colombo city by the reclamation of the sea, will also be released.

Sri Lanka's geography has gone through many territorial changes for nearly a couple of decades now. The new map will be released by the 1:500 ratio.

According to reports, printed copies of the map are likely to be made available by June.
