Sri Lanka: 700 representatives likely to attend December summit against corruption

The Sri Lankan government is planning to hold the National  Anti-corruption Summit 2016 in capital city, Colombo, in December this year, Indian news agency ANI reported today. 

The summit, set to be held on December 9, is likely to see the participation of about 700 local and foreign representatives, according to multiple reports. 

A proposal in this regard has already been reportedly approved by the Cabinet  by the Sri Lanka's minister of law and Order and southern development, Sagala Ratnayake, the Colombo Page, a local news platform reported. 

Meanwhile, according to ANI, the objective of the summit is to educate politicians, senior officers in the public and private sector, other relevant parties and the general public to create a corruption-free society. It also aims to generate a discourse on eradicating bribes and corruption in society.
