Six Rohingyas killed in helicopter attack were 'with terrorists': Myanmar army

The group of Rohingyas who were attacked and killed by a military helicopter on Thursday were affiliated with an armed rebel group, said Myanmar's military.

At least six Rohingyas were killed and nine were wounded.

The army-run Myawady newspaper said the villagers were "together with terrorists while the army was cracking down on the Arakan Army’s terrorist activities" on Wednesday in the township of Buthidaung.

All of them were believed to be bamboo workers. Some villagers and lawmakers said that the men were collecting bamboo near the Sai Din waterfall when they were attacked.

Ten people are being treated at the Buthidaung public hospital, Kyaw Min Tun, a hospital official, said on Friday.
