Pakistan's prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) has dismissed earlier reports that stated that the party had extended invitations to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, and former cricketers Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavasker and Navjot Singh Sidhu

PTI said that the new prime minister's swearing-in ceremony will be a "simple affair".

In a statement to the media, the PTI said that Imran Khan has decided against inviting foreign dignitaries and celebrities to the swearing in.

Hours later another statement was issued by the party's deputy secretary general saying that no one from across the border has been invited.

The party further claimed that celebrities from India were contacted but none of them were extended an invitation.

Earlier reports had said that the PTI chief had extended invitation to Indian cricketers.

An earlier list apparently had Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name.

The PTI had said on Thursday that they have sought the advice of the ministry of foreign affairs on whether they could invite the Indian PM and other Saar leaders
