Pakistan records 6,000 coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

Amid the rising number of coronavirus cases, Pakistan on Thursday reported 6,000 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours.

Sindh and Punjab have reported over 87,000 cases in the country with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recording over 15,000 cases. The coronavirus death toll in the country has risen to over 2,300.

On Thursday, Sindh had recorded the biggest single-day jump in COVID-19 cases with over 2,000 reported cases.

Balochistan reported 300 new COVID-19 cases taking the total number of cases in the province to over 7,300 even as the local government allowed bus services to resume amid the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government on Thursday issued an advisory to mall owners to follow SOPs including santization of shop owners, customers as set by the government.

As the number of cases contined to rise, the World Health Organization(WHO) said that Pakistan is among the top-10 countries in the world reporting the highest number of cases.
