The Patna-Howrah mainland suffered huge disruption on Wednesday night after several trains were discontinued in the region.

A group of Naxalites disrupted the movement of a train in Jamui district of Bihar.

The Naxalites held a guard as a captive in the Shaheed Jitendra halt on Wednesday night to block the train's movement.

They let the guard free only after the train was stopped.

The Naxals seized the guard from his posting at the Shaheed Jeetendra Halt.

They warned the railway authorities to face losses in case their demands were not catered.

The guard informed about the threat to his senior officers at all the stations after which over dozen of trains were stopped at their respective stations.

Meanwhile, the Naxals are celebrating their martyrdom week.
