Maldives: Former President Nasheed alleges President Yameen of violating UN sanctions on North Korea
Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed has allegedly accused President Abdulla Yameen of going against UN sanctions on North Korea.
Nasheed further noted that Yameen allowed the ships to transfer cargo to North Korean ships on the high seas. The former president took to Twitter saying, "It's concerning, but unsurprising, to learn President Yameen is again breaking UN sanctions, this time with North Korea. He's getting Maldives flagged ships to transfer cargo to North Korean ships on the high seas. In the 1990s, Prez Yameen did the same with the Burmese junta."

Yesterday, Nasheed claimed over 50 Maldives "National Defence Force (MNDF) and Police Officers" to have been detained by the loyalists of President Yameen.
Yameen loyalists have detained more than 50 MNDF and Police Officers. Some being detained in their barracks incommunicado; while senior SO police held in Dhoonidhoo. This is worrying. They must be freed.
