Prime Minister Narendra Modi also strongly condemned what he described as ''horrific blasts in Sri Lanka.''   

''Strongly condemn the horrific blasts in Sri Lanka. There is no place for such barbarism in our region. India stands in solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka. My thoughts are with the bereaved families and prayers with the injured,'' Modi tweeted.

Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid condemned the heinous terroristic attack and expressed deepest condolences.

''Shocked and saddened by reports of multiple explosions in Colombo and elsewhere in Sri Lanka. Condemn unreservedly this heinous terroristic attack claiming numerous lives and injuring many. Our deepest condolences & prayers are with Govt & people of Sri Lanka & affected families,'' Shahid tweeted.

Sri Lanka Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera described the Sunday blasts in churches and hotels a well-coordinated attempt to create murder, mayhem and anarchy and urged the people to unite with nerves of steel to defeat this ''heinous attempt.''

''Easter Sunday bomb blasts in churches & hotels, killing many innocent people seems to be a well coordinated attempt to create murder,mayhem & anarchy.All those who cherish democracy,freedom & economic prosperity must unite now with nerves of steel to defeat this heinous attempt,'' he said in a tweet immediately after the blast.

Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the explosions and terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka at churches and hotels that have led to numerous casualties and immense loss. 

People and Government of Pakistan stand by people and Government of Sri Lanka at this moment of tragedy and against terror, Pakistan foreign ministry added. 

Six blasts hit three churches and three hotels in Sri Lanka on Sunday, killing at least 156 and injuring more than 300. 

The blasts occurred at around 8.45 am (local time) as the Easter Sunday masses were in progress in churches.
