Islamic State has claimed responsibilty for the attack on a church in Quetta, Pakistan on Sunday.

At least eight people are dead after the attack and over 30 injured, a number of them critically.

Quetta's Bethel Memorial Methodist Church was attacked by two suicide bombers.

Security forces had managed to shoot down one of the attackers.

But the other managed to reach the door where he blew himself up.

Islamic State's Amaq news agency said Sunday in an online statement that the group was responsible.

The statement said two Islamic State members had carried out the attack but provided no evidence to back up their claim.
