India: Four years after Delhi gang rape, another girl raped in moving car

Exactly four years after the infamous December 16 gang rape in the Indian capital, a girl was allegedly raped in a moving car in South Delhi,

The 20-year-old girl, who is from Noida, had come to Delhi in search of a job.

According to news agency ANI, the accused was driving a rental car bearing a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) sticker and has been arrested by the police.

The girl was reportedly waiting for the bus at around 9 pm last night near All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) after searching for a job the whole day.

A Maruti car stopped by and the driver offered her to drop to Noida, ANI reported.

At around 11 pm to 12 am, the driver allegedly molested and raped the 20-year-old. The girl managed to escape and reached the police van patrolling the area,

The police van took the victim to the police station and a medical check-up was conducted. The accused driver had fled from the spot after leaving the car.

The police has registered a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 357 and 376 and arrested the accused from his friend's house
