Imran Khan extends support to Turkey in its row with US
Follow UsPakistan Prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan on Tuesday extended support to Turkey, which is caught up in a dispute with the US.
Khan took to Twitter and wrote, "On behalf of the people of Pakistan and myself, I want to let President Erdogan and the people of Turkey know we are praying for their success in dealing with the severe economic challenges confronting them, as they have always succeeded against adversities in their glorious history."

According to the Dawn, the Pakistan Foreign Office had announced its support to Turkey while urging dialogue with the US to maintain peace and stability between the two nations.
The US and Turkey have been waging a bitter battle over a US pastor arrested by Erdogan's regime which has imposed terror charges on him. The US has repeatedly called on Turkey to release pastor Brunson who has been in jail for the past 20 months.
President Donald Trump on Friday had doubled steel and aluminium tariffs against Turkey which resulted in the Turkish currency the Lira going in a freefall.
On Monday, the Turkish president had said despite his country being in NATO, the US had stabbed it in the back.
The economy of the country was in turmoil as Turkish currency lira witnessed a 20 per cent decline in the last month.
