The International Court of Justice (ICJ) will resume the hearing in the case of Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav in February 2019.

Jadhav was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court in April 2017 on spying charges.

Pakistan claims that its security forces had arrested Jadhav from Balochistan province in March 2016 after he reportedly entered from Iran.

India, however, denied the charges and moved the international court against the verdict in May last year.

The ICJ halted Jadhav's execution on India's appeal pending the final verdict by it.

In its submission, Pakistan had stated that Jadhav is not an ordinary person as he had entered the country with the intent of spying and carrying out sabotage activities.

The meeting between Jadhav and his family took place on December 25 at the Pakistani foreign affairs ministry in Islamabad after repeated requests by India for family access.
