The members of the minority Hindu community in Pakistan staged a protest against the influential figures and police for encroaching over their cremation site.

A sit-in protest was organised by the members of the Hindu community from various parts of Hyderabad outside the local press club.

A Pakistani media report said that the protestors, led by Walji Thakur, Dr Amarshi Thakur, Dr Mohan and others, accused the police of lending a helping hand to powerful land-grabbers in the area to encroach upon parts of the cremation site near Nara Jail.

The report further said that the members of the Hindu community alleged that they were not being allowed to conduct cremation on the site by the land grabbers.

Demanding justice the protesters also requested the authorities to intervene and help in retrieving the encroached land.
