Hearing on Nawaz Sharif's bail plea adjourned till October 29

Sharif who has been jailed in a corruption case and faces trials in a series of other money laundering cases was hospitalised after a massive dip in his platelet count.

The Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing in former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's bail plea till Tuesday.

In today's hearing, Nawaz Sharif's lawyers told the court that the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader remained critical as his platelet count continued to dip.

However, the lawyer of Pakistan's top anti-corruption body- the national accountability bureau argued that Sharif should not be allowed to travel abroad in this condition and he should remain hospitalised in Pakistan.

The 69-year-old might go abroad for treatment if granted bail. 

Sharif who has been jailed in a corruption case and faces trials in a series of other money laundering cases was hospitalised after a massive dip in his platelet count. 

He was rushed to the hospital from Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail.

Meanwhile, in a change of heart, Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan has softened his stance on sharif. This as opposition PML-N accused the government of neglecting the ailing sharif's health.

The PML-N leader's daughter Maryam Nawaz has been allowed to stay with her father at the hospital.

Remember, Maryam is among the accused in the graft cases involving her father. 

Earlier, PM Imran Khan had said that political differences, he has ensured that the former prime minister received the best possible healthcare.

Directing his minister not to speak on Sharif's health, Khan said that he will oblige if the court allows sharif to seek treatment in a foreign country.
