Mahira Khan to make her debut at Cannes this year
Looks like there is going to be a lot of representation from South Asia at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai are regular faces at the Cannes red carpet every year but this year Pakistani actress Mahira Khan will also join a bevvy of stars at the French Riviera.
The actor, who was named the first Pakistani brand ambassador for make-up giant L`Oreal last year, took to Instagram to share the news, Geo News reported.
Mahira shared a photograph of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger at the 1977 Cannes and captioned it: "Cannes 2018, Let`s do this!" The actress though later deleted the image.
Pakistani fashion designer Hassaan Khan congratulated Mahira and wrote, "Couldn't be more proud to have a sister who continues to open doors for future generations of Pakistan women. To make them believe they can achieve anything they want if they truly believe and love what they do. 'When they go low, we go high' @TheMahiraKhan #Cannes2018 #girlpower"
