"Few people pelt stones, all youths of J&K don't do that," ANI reported her as saying.

If all the children had sloganeered so many of them would not have passed the recent examinations, she added.

It has been difficult to explain Kashmir, and why its populace might want independence from the mainland, to the Indian public.

TV news discussions on Kashmir tend to be heated, with Kashmiris and Indians usually coming down on opposite sides. The ensuing polarisation has not helped matters.
