The Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary meet was held on Friday morning in the Indian capital of New Delhi where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed party MLAs on the issue of cash crisis in the wake of demonetisation. Modi is expected to meet with a delegation of the opposition Congress, including Rahul Gandhi, shortly.

Gandhi, the vice-president of the Indian National Congress, had sought an appointment from PM Modi to present a list of demands of farmers that he apparently collected during his extensive tour of election-bound state of Uttar Pradesh.

Later today, Opposition parties plan on marching to Rashtrapati Bhavan at 12 pm to meet the President and register their protest against the government's demonetisation move.

With only one day left, the Winter Session of Parliament is on the verge of a washout as it failed to transact any business again Thursday due to the standoff between the government and Opposition over demonetisation, AgustaWestland scam and some other issues.

The government dared Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday to respond in Parliament to allegations against her party over AgustaWestland scam, claiming that the opposition party is stalling both Houses as it has a lot to hide.

On the other side, Rahul Gandhi had on Wednesday alleged that he had detailed information about "personal corruption" by Prime Minister Narendra Modi which he wants to present in Lok Sabha but is not being allowed to do so by the PM.
