Major clashes erupted at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party office in Kolkata, following the arrest of Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay.

Party cadres of Trinamool Congress clashed with BJP supporters, injuring several on both sides, including senior leaders of BJP.

A huge contingent of police officials was rushed to the BJP party office to bring the situation under control. Trinamool Congress supporters were seen pelting stones and hurling empty glass bottles at the party office.

Meanwhile, the police is trying to push back Trinamool Congress supporters to prevent any further deterioration of the situation. Police have put up guard rails to prevent entry of any Trinamool Congress supporters near the BJP party office.

Meanwhile, Rapid Action Force has been deployed near the BJP party office in Kolkata. All shops around the party office has been shutdown. 

The Officer-in-charge, Jorasanko Police Station, Amit Rakshit, has been injured in the stone pelting. 

Several cars parked near the party office have been vandalised.
