Six tribal elders were reportedly abducted by the Taliban in northern Afghanistan today, Jowzjan province's governor confirmed.&nbsp;

According to the provincial governor's spokesperson Mohammad Maruf Azar, the abductees were picked up from the Jowzjan-Balkh highway today afternoon.

The incident coincides with the resumption of Taliban and American negotiations to end the war in Afghanistan.
