An Afghan election candidate was allegedly killed on Wednesday in a blast in his office in the southern province of Helmand, reported news agency Reuters quoting officials.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Abdul Jabar Qahraman, who was preparing to contest Saturday's parliamentary polls was killed in the blast, a senior government official said.
Eight people were injured, another government official added.
