Afghan, Pakistani military officials held talks to push for peace

Afghanistan and Pakistan held a meeting of senior military and intelligence officials on Sunday to discuss comprehensive bilateral mechanism on key areas.

The talks that majorly aimed at ensuring peace in the region were held at Pakistan army's headquarters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Pakistan's Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa told the delegation that the two countries must develop trust that they will never try to intrude into other's territory nor they will allow their land to be used against the other.

Afghanistan has been putting pressure on Pakistan to stop the country from using its land for breeding terrorists against it.

This is the first time when a high-level official from Afghanistan has visited Pakistan after the two countries agreed on a comprehensive bilateral mechanism for dialogue on key areas.
